There is an Extract of Marriages 1819-1855 from the RC Parish Register of Kilmichael, Co. Cork which records this marriage, but I am not sure if this is the right John Dorgan: July 1837: John HARTNETT to Joan HALEHAN witnesses: Jerry HALIHAN + May DONOVAN.
There is also a possibility that the father of John and Patrick Dargan was John Dorgan if the Irish naming pattern holds. I found this notation in the CMCR Project:

The 1901 Census of Ireland lists a John Dorgan and his wife Ellen and their family living at Kilmacahill in a private second-class home with three rooms and three front windows. The house was constructed of stone or brick with a tile or slated roof. There were eight outhouses: stable, cow house, calf house, dairy, piggery, fowl house, barn and potato house.
John Dorgan could read and write Irish and English.
