O'Donnell, John B., 88, of Parkside Drive, Warwick, died on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the husband of the late Helen (Burke) O'Donnell and the late Muriel (Heap) Walsh O'Donnell. Born in Providence, the son of the late John B. and Ann M. (Deignan) O'Donnell, he lived in Warwick since 1951. Mr. O'Donnell was an aircraft repair supervisor at the Quonset Point Naval Air Station in North Kingstown for 29 years until its closing in 1973. He was later employed by the State of Rhode Island in the Department of Human Services, and as a maintenance supervisor at Rhode Island College. Mr. O'Donnell attended LaSalle Academy in Providence and received associate degrees from Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and a golfer with the S.R.S. Golf League. He is survived by two daughters: Patricia A. Ellison of New Bedford, and her husband, Raymond E.; and Kathleen O'Donnell in Mexico; two sons: John B. O'Donnell of Las Vegas; and Army Major William J. O'Donnell of Warwick, State Commander of the V.F.W., his fiancee Cynthia Mutter, and their children, Rudy, Emily, Erika, Ben, and Rebecca; two step-sons: Henry Walsh in Arizona, his wife Stephanie, and their children, Brad and Sarah; and Timothy Walsh in Florida, his wife Susan, and their children, Geoffrey and Derek; and a sister: Anna Dorgan of Scituate. He was the brother of the late Mary MacNeil, Robert O'Donnell, Michael O'Donnell, Conrad O'Donnell, and Virginia O'Donnell. His funeral will be held on Friday, April 29, at 9 a.m. from the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to 'Operation Uplink', c/o Rhode Island VFW, 83 Park St., Providence, Rhode Island 02903.
