Obituary

Earl E. Herzog Jr. 84 years of age, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Miriam Hospital in Providence after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Corinne H. (Dorgan) Herzog.
He was born in Providence the son of Earl E. Herzog Sr. and Annis S. (Harrison) Herzog-Sacs. Mr. Herzog joined the US Navy in 1943 and served in the South Pacific as an Aviation Ordnanceman. He was discharged from active duty in 1946 and later discharged from the Naval Reserves in 1967. Mr. graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and the Rhode Island School of Design. He lived in Providence and moved to No. Smithfield where he was a designer at Joan Ann Fabrics in Woonsocket for several years. He owned and orperated a textile mill in Burrilleville and moved to Chelmsford, Ma. for two years and to Cumberland, RI and then to Aberdeen No. Carolina and returning to Greenville in 1964.
He had been employed as a Technical Textile Designer for the former Quaker Fabrics of Fall River for over 30 years before retiring in 2006.
Besides his wife he leaves four sons, Robert Herzog, Richard and his wife Kathy Herzog, David Herzog and Donald and his wife Julie Herzog. He also leaves a sister Beverly Midgley, four Grandchildren, Cory, Courtney Ashley and Kara and a Great Grandson Dezmin; nieces and nephews. His love and devotion for his family will always be treasured.

Earl served in the US Navy during WWII. He attained the rank AOM2.
