King and Catherine F. Byrne, on July 29, 1914 in Immaculate Conception Church, Providence, Rhode Island.  Rev. William Pyne officiated.  She was born January 05, 1883 in Providence, Rhode Island, and died April 21, 1944 at 203 Woodbine St., Cranston, Rhode Island.

This obituary of Catherine J. King was published in the Providence Journal on April 21, 1944, p.21:

"The funeral of Mrs. Catherine J. Dorgan, wife of Michael J. Dorgan, who died Friday at her home, 203 Woodbine street, Auburn, after a week’s illness, will be held Tuesday morning at 9:15 at the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 20 Orms street, with a requiem mass at St Matthew’s Church, Auburn, at 10 a. m. Burial will be in St Ann’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Dorgan, daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Burne) King, was born in Providence and had lived in Cranston for the past 20 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve L. Owen of Cranston; two sons, Thomas A. Dorgan of Providence, and Pfc. Christopher Christopher J. Dorgan, stationed in Lincoln, Neb.; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Louise B. Curley of Providence, and a brother, Thomas F. King of Holyoke, Mass. She was a sister of the late Christopher King who was in the U. S. consular service in France."

1. CHRISTOPHER J. DORGAN, born July 06, 1915 in Providence, Rhode Island; died June 30, 1971 in Providence, Rhode Island Veterans Hospital. He married Jennette Moreau born 1919 in Providence, Rhode Island.  Jennette was a talent show host on radio in the 1940s in Rhode Island.

The obituary of Christopher J. Dorgan appeared in the Providence Journal on June 30, 1971, page 31:

"Christopher J. Dorgan, 55, of 585 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, a manager in the Department of Employment Security for 15 years until retiring in 1962 died yesterday in the Veterans Administration Hospital here. Ill a month, he was the husband of Jeanette (Moreau) Dorgan. Mr. Dorgan was born July 6, 1915 in Providence. A Cranston resident most of his life, he was a communicant of St Mark’s Church, Garden City. He was a World War II Army veteran. His parents were the late Michael J. and Catherine (King) Dorgan. Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Thomas A. Dorgan of Warwick, and a sister Mrs Genevieve Owen in New Hampshire. His funeral will be held tomorrow in Cranston at 8 a. m. from "Woodlawn", 600 Pontiac Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St Mark’s Church, Garden City. Burial will be in St Ann’s Cemetery."

2. MARY C. DORGAN, born 1917; died February 13, 1940 in Cranston, Rhode Island.  Mary C. Dorgan never married. She died at the age of 23 at 203 Woodbine Street, Cranston, RI.  Burial: St. Ann's Cemetery, Plot 398, Section 15, Cranston, RI

Here is her obituary printed in the Providence Journal, February 14, 1940:

"Miss Marie C. Dorgan, 23, daughter of Michael J. and Catherine J. King Dorgan, died yesterday at her home, 203 Woodbine street, Cranston, after a short illness. She was born Jan. 31, 1917, in Providence and had attended Cranston high school. Miss Dorgan was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality of St Matthew’s Church. She is survived by her parents, a sister, Miss Genevieve L. Dorgan, and two brothers, Christopher J. and Thomas A. Dorgan of Cranston. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 8:15 at her home. A solemn requiem mass will be sung in St Matthew’s Church, Elmwood avenue, at 9 o’clock. Burial will be in St Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston." 

 

3. GENEVIEVE L. DORGAN, born January 01, 1919 in Providence, Rhode Island; died March 12, 2001 in Bedford, NH.  She married Frederick H. Owen. He was born December 01, 1914, and died March 10, 1998 in Hooksett, New Hampshire 03106.

"HOOKSETT - Genevieve L. Owen died yesterday at Laurel Center, Bedford, after a short illness. She was born in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Michael and Kathryn (King) Dorgan. She lived in Hooksett from 1962 until moving to Manchester in 1984, returning to Hooksett in 1992. She was a homemaker and a part-time sales clerk at Jordan Marsh. She was past president of Hooksett Catholic Women's Club and a volunteer for Hooksett Little League. She is predeceased by her husband, Ted Owen Jr., who died in 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Raskin of Allenstown and Nanci Breagy of Epsom; a son, Ted Owen III of Hooksett; a brother, Thomas Dorgan of Scituate, R.I.; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will not be held. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 15 S. Main St., Hooksett. Lambert Funeral Home, Manchester, is in charge of the arrangements."

DORGAN [Providence RI Journal, Wednesday 16 May 2007] Dorgan, Thomas A., 86, of Great Road, North Smithfield, died on Monday, May 14, 2007 at home. He was the husband of Ann D. (O'Donnell) Dorgan. Born in Providence, a son of the late Michael J. and Catherine (King) Dorgan, he lived in Warwick and Scituate before moving to North Smithfield 18 months ago. Mr. Dorgan was a toolmaker/ machinist, and the owner of TAD Manufacturing in Warwick for 20 years before retiring 18 years ago. He was a member of Warwick Council #2295 Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Dorgan, Jr. of Scituate and Kevin M. Dorgan of Meredith, NH; four daughters, Anne Marie Omweg and Regina M. Bharoocha of North Smithfield, Virginia M. Brosnan of Warwick, and Monica M. Martin of Coventry; nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Maureen Dorgan, and the brother of the late Christopher Dorgan, Genevieve Owen and Marie Dorgan. His funeral will be held on Friday, May 18, at 8:30 a.m. from the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Highland Street, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. She was the wife of Thomas A. Dorgan, who died on May 14, 2007. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late John B. and Ann (Deignan) O'Donnell, Ann lived in Warwick and Scituate before moving to North Smithfield in 2005. Mrs. Dorgan was a gifted artist and sculpturist. She exhibited her works at shows in Rhode Island and Santa Barbara, California, and taught at her Garden Gate Studio in Warwick. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella at St. Benedict's Church in Warwick. Ann is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Dorgan, Jr. of Scituate, RI, and Kevin M. Dorgan of Meredith, NH; four daughters, Anne Marie Omweg and Regina M. Bharoocha of North Smithfield, Virginia M. Brosnan of Warwick, Monica M.
